Single crystal X-ray diffraction (SC-XRD) is a powerful non-destructive analytical technique that provides detailed structural information about crystalline materials. The system features the advanced PHOTON III Detector with mixed-mode technology for high sensitivity and dynamic range, along with a reliable sealed tube X-ray source/ (graphite-monochromater Mo-Kα radiation) that ensures stable and intense X-ray output. The high-precision goniometer allows accurate sample positioning and data collection, while optional cryogenic cooling facilitates temperature-dependent crystallographic studies. The APEX Software Suite offers comprehensive tools for data collection, processing, and structure refinement.
SC-XRD applications span various scientific fields, including structural determination, phase identification, and molecular chemistry. It enables the elucidation of complex molecular structures, characterizes cation-anion coordination, and determines crystal orientation for materials science applications. The technique is instrumental in studying material properties, aiding the development of advanced materials such as semiconductors and turbine blades.
